Lighting and built-in lights that focus on the geometry of the building and the wood facade treated with the Shou-Sugi-Ban technique create a unique combination of style and originality. An example – our project in Dudweiler. The background lighting effectively underlines the play of light and the relief of the facade, which was created by burning the wood.
Each board meets an open propane flame. The burn depth is controlled by hand — seconds matter.
After charring, every board is brushed and sealed with a natural oil glaze. This locks in the carbon layer and brings out the silver-black contrast.
Boards are fixed with hidden fasteners, working from the ground up so every joint stays flush and weathertight.
